An alarming incident unfolded at the Gokulpuri Metro Station in Delhi on Thursday morning when a large section of the station’s wall collapsed onto the street below. The sudden collapse trapped five people inside a car, leaving them badly hurt.
Emergency teams, including the police and ambulance services, acted swiftly to rescue the trapped individuals from the rubble. Tragically, despite their efforts, one person, identified as Vinod Kumar from Karawal Nagar, lost his life. Authorities are investigating the incident to understand what went wrong.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) expressed deep sadness over the incident and announced compensation for the victims’ families. They promised Rs 25 lakh for the family of the deceased, Rs 5 lakh for the seriously injured, and Rs 1 lakh for those with minor injuries.
Witnesses described the chaotic scene as the wall collapsed, causing panic among passersby. The collapse happened around 11:00 a.m. and disrupted traffic on the road.

After the incident, rescue teams worked to secure the area and remove the debris. The police have started an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the collapse.
Meanwhile, the injured individuals are receiving treatment at the GTB Hospital. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining safe infrastructure to prevent accidents in the future.
