Fighter Movie Faces Ban in Gulf Countries Except UAE.
For fans of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone residing in Gulf countries, there’s unfortunate news as the release of their film ‘Fighter’ has been prohibited in all Gulf countries, except the UAE.
“In a surprising move, Fighter has been officially banned for theatrical release in the Middle East regions. The film will only be released in the UAE with a PG15 classification!”
Girish Johar (Film Business Expert and Producer)
While ‘Fighter’ has not received approval from the censor board in Gulf countries, the aerial action thriller is set to be released in Indian cinemas on January 25.
The film also features Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi, directed by Siddharth Anand.
The movie revolves around the Balakot airstrike, conducted by the Indian armed forces in the Balakot region of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This airstrike was in response to a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist organization, leading to the loss of around 40 CRPF personnel.
Fighter Movie Faces Ban in Gulf Countries Except UAE, however, the reason for the ban has not been revealed yet.
After the success of ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ in 2008 and the blockbuster ‘Pathan’ in 2023, ‘Fighter’ marks Deepika Padukone’s third collaboration with director Siddharth Anand. It is also the third film for Siddharth Anand with Hrithik Roshan. Their first collaboration, ‘Bang Bang!’, earned 340 crores worldwide, and their second collaboration, ‘War,’ was made with a budget of 150 crores and grossed 471 crores worldwide, featuring Tiger Shroff alongside Hrithik Roshan.
Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Squadron Leader Shamsheer Pathaniya, alias Pati, while Deepika Padukone portrays Squadron Leader Meenal Rathore, alias Minni. The experienced actor Anil Kapoor plays Group Captain Rakesh Jay Singh, alias Rocky.
“My wife Mamta and I started our film company MARFLIX with Fighter. A film that is ambitious in many ways. It is more than just a film for us. And we have given everything for this one. 2024 is starting with the same excitement and restlessness. Hope you all will love Fighter as much as you loved Pathan. Happy New Year, friends! Watch movies!! On January 25th.”
