The district court in Varanasi had ordered on Wednesday the right for Hindus to perform puja and recitation in Vyas Ji ka Tekhana within the Gyanvapi premises. After this court decision, the first puja in Vyas Ji ka Tekhana was conducted, and a video of it has surfaced on social media.
In response to the puja and recitation conducted in Vyas Ji ka Tekhana at the Gyanvapi, the Muslim side has expressed dissatisfaction with the court’s decision. After performing namaz inside Gyanvapi, the Muslim side has shown displeasure with the court’s verdict. Advocate Mukhtar, representing the Muslim side, opposed the puja in Vyas Ji ka Tekhana, stating that there was no urgency in this matter, and the order was given without any evidence. He also questioned the initiation of puja late at night, questioning the propriety of such actions.

Meanwhile, the controversy over the puja and archana in Vyas Ji ka Tekhana within the disputed Gyanvapi premises has led the Masjid Intzamiya Committee to file a petition in the Allahabad High Court. The committee has approached the High Court after not receiving relief from the Supreme Court, challenging the decision of the district judge in Varanasi.
Regarding the Varanasi court’s decision, The district judge had also directed the district magistrate in this order, stating clearly that the Shailendra Vyas and the Kashi Vishwanath Trust should make arrangements for the worship and offerings to be conducted within seven days in Vyas Ji ka Tekhana within the Gyanvapi premises.
