NHAI has issued a crucial update for FASTag users: from January 31, 2024, banks will deactivate FASTags with incomplete KYC despite having valid balances. To streamline toll plaza operations, NHAI has launched the ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ initiative, urging users to avoid using a single FASTag for multiple vehicles. Users are strongly advised to complete the ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) process for their latest FASTag, aligning with RBI guidelines.

To ensure a smooth transition and active FASTag status, users must promptly update KYC details through the official FASTag website. The ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ policy must be followed, requiring users to discard any earlier issued FASTags through their respective banks. Starting February 1, 2024, only the most recent FASTag account will stay operational, while earlier tags will be deactivated or blacklisted.
