The directorial venture of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, will be available for streaming in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on Netflix starting January 26. Netflix’s official announcement reads, “The air is dense and the temperature is rising. Witness his wild rage in Animal, streaming from 26 January on Netflix.“
Excitement is palpable among fans, with one expressing, “I’m waiting for this movie,” and another praising it as the “biggest movie of the year.” A user even questioned whether it would be the extended cut or the theatrical version.
Interestingly, the decision to release “Animal” on OTT came as a surprise following a reported dispute between co-producers CINE 1 Studios Private Limited and T Series. The disagreement over an alleged contractual breach led to legal proceedings in the Delhi High Court, ultimately resulting in the resolution that enabled the film’s OTT release.
Contrary to expectations, there won’t be any added scenes in the OTT version, dispelling earlier hopes for an extended cut. This is in contrast to other streaming platforms like Disney Plus Hotstar, which released an extended version of Ranbir Kapoor’s “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.”
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, “Animal” boasts an ensemble cast featuring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles. The film explores the intricate relationship between a father and a son.
