Review: India’s Rebirth
“India’s Rebirth” is a post-humous compilation of Sri Aurobindo’s writings, talks and speeches from 1893-1950. Sri Aurobindo (1872-1950) was a Hindu mystic, yogi, philosopher and freedom fighter. The book records and traces his thought on a variety of subjects relating to the direction which he believed Hindus should tread in order for India to regain her ancient brilliance in the modern age.

Sri Aurobindo was absolutely right always and because he was a philosopher and a freedom fighter his writings always revealed achievements of Hindus in ancient times used by the Europeans and Middle East learners for further development. British during their Raj made sure the Indian schools and colleges never taught the students the truth and researches of Hindus before the Greeks and robbed them the pride necessary for Nation building.
Even in present era almost every week in programs on Radios 4 and TV about any subject of sciences the participants avoid mention of Hindu achievements before the Greek scholars and the findings are referred and dismissed as ‘ancient’ sciences. I am not surprised because the Radio 4 and many TV stations have to strictly follow the guidelines provided and controlled by C of E knowing that if the truth is told in the media its program of Christianization of India will be jeopardised. We should be proud of our ancestors and their brilliance that provided such a vast knowledge in every branch of sciences as we know today including plastic surgery, big numbers and calculus.
