Spiritual Democracy in Hinduism
An analogy with a Cold War era Soviet diplomat’s confusion when arriving in an American city for the first time provides perhaps the best way to appreciate Hinduism’s apparent “pick and choose” approach to spirituality.

Jewdism, Christianity and Islam are not closed creeds but they have a very focused and united force. Hinduism is scattered all over the palce with no unity. Unless you ae united you ae doomed to fail and thus disappear. There ixs no unity in HInduism and that is why it is falling apart and disappearing from this Earth. the three book based religion have one focus.
How many focus do Hindus have? None.
Too many cooks spoil the broth - the Hindu have not learnt anything form this saying. Apnee apnee dhaplee apnee apnee raag - disunite and destroy yourself.
Jahan summat wahan sumpatti nana
Jahan kummati wahan bipat bidhana
Learn you HIndus - learn how to unite.

What a distortion of facts! Average person will be rail roaded. Those who are well read and intelligent knows that Soviet union couls stand against USA, even after 16 million casualty in 2nd European war.
They also developed Atom Bomb, and ICBM etc. They also helped us by accepting Rupee when Rs. was poor and US refused to accept in Rs.
It is silly to put stories, we have been taught about SaradAraji in childhood.
Be informed, and accept the facts; and progress. This may satisfy majority, but is not going to improve our stuation.
Also WESTERISED people humiliate our BhagavAn by addrrressing him as LORD, and putting him in par with mundane Lord Minto, Mounbatten etc.
May Bhagavan give us Satbuddhi.

This is a wonderful article. I was in that same discussion with a colleague recently with almost exactly that conversation. I find many atheist who can not believe that a religion can be this way. They are so indoctrinated into the christo-islamists way of thinking that they think it applies to all religions. They are a close minded (monothink) religion.
Interesting comments about the soviets. Perhaps history needs to be reviewed. The Maoists have been one of the most aggressive ethnic cleansers of all time. Their disregard for individual rights and antipathy for religious freedom is itself a deep seated religious belief. I like Marx. But the application sucks. I like the sermon on the mount, but the application sucks. I like the idea of there is no god (truth) but god, but the application sucks. - No question the west has failed on many fronts, but the communists have killed in the hundreds of millions. Even the christo-islamists have trouble keeping up with that pace.
I must read more Goel.

Great article! I must point out that both Islam and Christianity are anything but united. Sunni hate Shia and both hate Ahmadis and other “heretical sects”. Equally, Catholics do not recognize any other Christian denomination as “true” christians, and in turn, each Christian sect does not recognize all the others as “true” or “correct” Christianity. Judaism too has warring factions. So much for the so called Unity of Monotheism.
Sanatana Dharma has the correct philosophy because it is the functioning reflection of the Divine Reality, as Unity through Diversity. The One is the Many and the Many is One. That is real unity that never can be destroyed, because it follows the laws of nature, and thus the laws of Dharma.
As a proof, despite all the efforts by the monotheist creeds, and other “monoist” ideologies such as Communism, Globalisation (Capitalism), Sanatana Dharma is still here, and will always remain, unlike the Monoist creeds which will, like all empires, desintigrate and crumble, as no system which works against the natural laws of Dharma can last.
