A Malay(s) in Asia
Often touted as the model of a modern Islamic state many were surprised at the recent upsurge of Hindu protests in Malaysia. A nation with a ten per cent Indian population and thirty percent ethnic Chinese after all could hardly afford to be perceived as biased, or so I thought.

I know the history of modern state of Malaysia. Mr. Lee was the chief architect of Singapore’s economic growth. And, Dr. Mahathir Mohammad, chief architect of Malaysian economic growth, had Mr. Lee as his role model. As an undisputed leader and Prime Minister of Malaysia for almost 2 decades, Dr. Mahathir Mohammad took the path of economic development in Singapore style by establishing special rights to the local Malays (Muslims) without hurting the other ethnic groups namely Chinese and Indians. He suppressed the fanatics and injected modern thinking among the ethnic Muslims (locals). His departure from the political scence has created chaos in Malaysia. Muslim fundamentalists have come above the carpet. And, this is the beginning of unrest in Malaysia. Muslims (local Malays) consisting around 60 % population is being dragged into the path being followed by Taliban in Afghanistan or old established fundamentalists, terrorists and ISI of Pakistan. I don’t see emergence of another Dr. Mahathir Mohammad in the current scenario. Downfall of Malaysian economy and increasing social tensions is clearly written on the walls. Hindus (Tamils) in Malaysia are the only persons of Indian origin in the entire world, who earn less than the local citizens. It is a success story in rest of the world. Persons of Indian origin are very successful in almost all the countries of the world, except Malaysia/Singapore/Indinesia. They are a bunch of innocent idiots. Spineless Indian government can not help them. Do not get surprised, if Idi Amin like story is built in Malaysia in next few years.

30% population of Chinese origin control the business and economy. Indians are still behaving like their grand fathers brought to Malaysia as plantation labourers.

Indians in Malaysia, even during the days of Mahathir, are not allowed to get higher education, cannot get job in the government, cannot express their opinion, can not assemble, cannot even allowed to maintain their temples built at least 150 years ago.
Go to Malaysia( I have been there) and see that they have erased out the history of Malaysia before 14th century, because they do not want to talk about Sri Vijaya or Salendra Dynasty who had developed Malaysian civilization for at aleast 200 years before the Muslim occupied Malaysia and converted 60 percent of the people by force.
Look at the official history of Malaysia. It says, before 14th century there were only aborigins in Malaysia and Arab traders brought civilization to Malay.
There was a riot against the Chinese in 1969 but thereafter Chinese are now converting into Muslim religion.
Hindus are at the receiving end of the government of Malaysia, which is now fanatically Islamic.

Corrections:
Sri Vijaya and Sailendra dynasty in Malaysia and Indonesia was formed at least 2000 years( not 200 years) before the Muslim invasion of Malay

Indian Malaysians are marginalised on both sides; one by the malay controlled govt and public sector in employmentment and advancement opportunities, and on the other hand, the other private sector controlled by the chinese. This is what happens when you are just 8% of the population and hemmed by two large races.
Most Indians are lower middle class but more than fairly represented in the professions though still marginalised.
Its the politics over which they have no control. They have now largely abandoned the ruling party. There are no internal solutions to the problem. There must necessarily by external solutions. Its up to India, UK and the USA to step in.

There is a solution though.
India, UK and the USA should offer citizenship to Malaysian PIOs. The immigratiosn would only enhance the recipient countries. That would provide a leeway, as well as embarass the Malaysian govt. It would also put greater pressure on the chinese community and force China to intervene as well and bring about overall changes.

Pathmarajah first off all the Indian gov’t is anti Hindu, it can’t even protect Hindus in Kashmir, expecting those buffoons to take in Hindus from Malaysia is a pipe dream.
Next what kind of precedent will it set, every two bit dictator will then start kicking out Hindus from other countries because he will be sure that India will take them in without a whimper.
This is how it all started in Srilanka, they deported the so called plantation Tamils and India accepted them, then they moved onto the Eelam Tamils because they were sure there would be no backlash (thankfully they were proved utterly wrong).
Hindus in other countries need to lobby their govt’s to put sanctions on Malaysia, build relations with Malaysian Hindus and above all Malaysian Hindus will have to fight for their rights, the system is nothing but state sponsored racial and religious discrimination and Hindus are victims on both counts.

“30% population of Chinese origin control the business and economy. Indians are still behaving like their grand fathers brought to Malaysia as plantation labourers. ”
Have some heart. You probably don’t know what its like to live in a truly discrimating place - and how difficult in can be for a community to progress in such circumstances.

The Muslim Malays are closing down the Indian schools so that the Hindu Indians do not have access to education - we know the result of that policy.
What I would suggest is we check every product we buy if its made in malaysia -do not buy and inform the shop staff.
economic boycott is a valuable weapon - please do not feel you will not make a difference

The more I learn about Islam, the more I despise it.
