The booming Hindu temple-hair business
Recently, there have been a large number of reports on the growing trend of ‘Temple hair extensions’ among women and men in western countries, particularly amongst film stars, musicians and other celebrities.‘Temple hair extensions’ are so called because the hair used to make the hair extensions is believed to have come from the compounds of the Tirumala temple devoted to Lord Venkateswara in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. At the temple, it is common for devotees to donate their hair as an offering to Lord Venkateswara, as a symbolic sacrifice of the ego.

We must take our religion seriously. Any practice which adds to our spiritual development should be welcome - this means that the intention behind the “shaving of hair” should be to promote Hindu Spiritually. There is nothing worng in selling the hair in order to fund good spirtual causes, but Hindus participating in this practice should not be motivated by financial gain and great care should be taken to see that there is no illegal transactions going on and that the way the hair is processed and used comply with health and safety standards.

jai triputhibalaji
Tripatiputhibalaji is lord Vishnu form omnipresent and all emcompasing. The nature diety is both male and female black with red diamond tilaka. This diety is revered by South indians for prosperity and fortune.
balaji asks we offer a leaf and it will be accepted. Offerings are given as a sign to thank the Lord of fulfilling wishes that come true. hair is not asked by Balaji but some devotees are overcome with austerity and humbleness that they donate their most prized posssesion THEIR HAIR.
For a lady who cannot have children, her wish is a child …..she prays for this heir in her family ….Balaji offers her hope in return she will donate her most exensive gift her luscious black silky hair …this is the ultimate sacrifice to her Lord.
The Lord Balaji recieves leaves, milk, hair, Gold and diamonds all this is reminding us that this is unequal to the power of God. What is the value of a diamond without having a mother ….what is the value of gold without having sister.
Sri balaji ki jai
