Saddam and the West
The news that Saddam Hussain, President and Dictator of Iraq for over 20 years, has been sentenced to death for crimes against humanity has been greeted with enthusiasm from many quarters. Even those who are usually opposed to the death penalty have not reacted negatively to the outcome of the trial, in the knowledge that Saddam is fully guilty of the crimes for which he is due to be punished.

Although Saddam Hussain is a crook, every person has to right to fair trial. Executing him based on this trial will only increase the trouble in Iraq and also here in the UK.
I believe that the double standards of our democratically elected government are partly to blame for the current global recruitment drive of terrorists. The best way to beat terrorism is to stop having having double standards and we as voters should be contacting our MPs to protest about double standards.
Only by persistent pressure we can stop this injustice. On the long run this will isolate the fanatic core of extremists from the moderate mainstream.

In 1959 CIA has encouraged Saddam to organize a coup against General Kaseem, but that has failed and Saddam fled to Egypt. In 1963 again CIA has organized another coup and it was successful. Saddam came back to Iraq.
In 1963 Britain and Israel backed American intervention in Iraq, while other United States allies — chiefly France and Germany — resisted. But Kennedy, like President Bush today, pressed on.
In Cairo, Damascus, Tehran and Baghdad, American agents marshaled opponents of the Iraqi regime. Washington set up a base of operations in Kuwait, intercepting Iraqi communications and radioing orders to rebels. The United States armed Kurdish insurgents.
On Feb. 8, 1963, the conspirators staged a coup in Baghdad. For a time the government held out, but eventually Kassem gave up, and after a swift trial was shot; his body was later shown on Baghdad television.
The 1963 coup was accompanied by a bloodbath. Using lists of suspected Communists and other leftists provided by the C.I.A., the Baath Party of Iraq systematically murdered untold numbers of Iraq’s educated elite — killings in which Saddam Hussein himself is said to have participated. No one knows the exact toll, but accounts agree that the victims included hundreds of doctors, teachers, technicians, lawyers and other professionals as well as military and political figures.
The United States also sent arms to the new regime, weapons later used against the same Kurdish insurgents the United States had backed against Kassem and then abandoned.
In 1968, after yet another coup, the Baathist general Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr seized control, bringing to the threshold of power his kinsman, Saddam Hussein. Again, this coup came with C.I.A. backing. Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon in the late 1960’s, had close relations with Saddam.

As a Hindu I think Saddam Hussain was positive for Hindus. In Iraq the country was one of the most secular countries. Where Hindus were welcomed, treated with dignity and respect. There was no religious discrimination.
Saddam Hussain killed more Jihadis then the Indian govt ever did. He supported India on Kashmir. Under Saddam even though Iraq was a Muslim country alochol was freely sold.
As a Hindu I would prefer saddam ruling Iraq anyday over the Jihadis currently running it.

Iraq is a lesson for India today, which is trying to be a client of USA. Iraq was in the same position when Saddam Hussein was in power, with USA supplying massive amount of weapons to Iraq to fight against Iran.
When the purpose is served, USa immediately first abandon Iraq in favour of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, then provoked it to attack Kuwait, then attack Iraq in 1991, imposed sanctions to kill its people, then invaded it to destroy it altogether.
Today India is signing the Nuclear deal with USA, which would take away India’s nuclear weapons and will force India to buy nuclear power plants from USA at a very high cost. That will aliente India from Russia, the traditional supplier of all nuclear materials, power plants and weapons. When the purpose will be served USA will put India in high and dry and go back to its traditional friend Pakistan, a NATO ally of USA.
Already India is forced to surrender the glacier in Kashmir to Pakistan under PUS pressure. Very soon, India will have to allow autonomy for Kashmir and eventual independence of Kashmir as a new Muslim state.

DP, You have a very good reason to write your comments to India’s Prime Minister, Sonia and her pals (I have provided the links). When Indian nuclear scientists had bluntly refused to sign any nuclear deal with America, why did the government go forward signing the nuclear treaty?

Nations are temporary.
but our soul exists in a temporal scale. Anyone who thinks US history is other than the use of power to acquire wealth has missed quite a bit. Anyone who thinks the contribution of the US is only its acquisiton of wealth has also missed quite a bit. Likewise any nation struggling to keep its people together must struggle.
Of course the most powerful nation in the world should muck with other nations and keep them weak. Of course other nations should team up to oppose the raw power of the most powerful nation in the world. The question is simply do the people have the gyana to establish legitimate sovereignty? If indians, specially educated ones, can’t get the interests of their nation together, that nation should collapse. - even if other people put our house on fire, it is our responsibility to put it out.
I do think a hindu perspective on world issues is very important. We seek truth, not just in the spiritual world but the immanent as well. The Gita ends with picking up a bow and quiver, not a meditation on how to get along with your enemies. This is a guide that should be given to every soldier all over the world. India will come and go. Sanatana Dharma will be expressed in India, the US, Iraq, and every where else. Be attentive to it.

Once that is established they can spread… to the poor, and the unwanted in the villages and the valleys… re connect them to the original religion of the land and if need be, re-convert the others…
Once the country side is ours… then the Cities, like the biblical Babylon of the Christians will be islands of sin in a sea of Dharma.
They will, like the city states of old, manage to stop us for a while, but like the old sieges of yesteryear… when their “spiritual bread and water” is finally cut off … the Armies of Dharma will storm and re-establish the age of Ram, the land of Krsna…

Could they dare demand such thing at time of so called cold war? Every december,ever since gulf war there is a show of bullying tactics by anglo-saxons in middle east. There is really no ground but excuse is created because this race feels uplifted when others are insultated. Also there is a low cost exercise in bullying any other nation by military postures. Why should Iraq not have weapons as he desires?in 1981, when the israelis had bombed the iraqui nuclear reacto(a few days before going critical) it was britain)govt, and british media) who had vwhemently opposed Israeli daring action and did a lot of anti-jewish propaganda. But bthis did not dent the reputation of amnesty international. british propaganda ensured that. IN ‘88 when Dalia lama,at the height of Tibetan disturbances, visited west, the then british prime minister refused to meet Him. Later on with the demise of Russia and usefullness of China gone and with manipulation to keep power in Hongkong somehow intact, the same british media and government ,like dog, started barking at China. It is interesting that amnesty international selectively targets those very countries(as it did china after cold war) who are out of faviour(because they would not be a brtish sttoge)of the british media and govt. This is not surprizing as amnesty international is the creation of british govt, and british media. england with the most appaling record of human rights in last 200 years of her evil rule, needed some organisation to keep the others from chrging england off her past and current evil practices. In other words it went for aggresive posture in propaganda war so that others can be demoralized and stopped from ponting out the real evil which is england. That is why amnesty international is one armour of the british lies to exploit the rest of the world. Amnesty international must be ignored and an independent human watchdog (which england will simply ignore) created. One purpose of amnesty international is to create an atmosphere for hatred towards the would be vitims of british exploitation so that a victim could be blamed to have deserved the consequences. That is why ,now amnesty international sometimes threatens China, sometimes India and etc. India because india needs to be cowed down and also so that India does not make nuclear wepon and thus feel free from future american(read english and anglosaxon)aggression. This is all to create an atmoshphere of mis information. The other countries are also responsible(out of sheer inferority complex) for giving these instuments of british propaganda so much imporatance. If they simply ignore and then the british lies and then themselves go in offensive(they can do it-no problem)against british exploitation and propaganda then tose countries would not in such dire strait as they are now. Think, this deteriration has happened in only last 20 years(thogh the british have been at this game for a long time but they were not always succesful when others have been vigilant).Ignoring and fighting all this anglosaxons propaganda, the other races(yes it comes to that) must unite and support each other against this common enemy england. The other nations should also go nuclear and assemble as much arm as possible ,collaborate on it and ignoring this anglosaxon race they must be prepared for war which tjhen would be prevented otherwise it would come inevitably. The other nations need to arm themselves to protect themselves from anglo saxon race. Thinking any other way is simply kidding oneself. And it can be done and will be done.

Checking all satellite bases communication(telephone, fax, internet,etc)with help of klistening devices in anglosaxon countries and spying ao all the talks and messages all over world.This illegal activity is cordinated in england. European countries are loosins billions of dollars each years through leak of confidential techiqe and discovery. Apart form the fact that for tea,china, spices and plants this thief country england never paid anything for others’ intellectual property right(why does royal doulton or british tea company not pay royalty to China?) this thief country england has done theft of German technology like urea making ang consequently ammunition making. In fact Standarsd oil company of america made a lot of theft of BAAs. a Germany company and many of the bombs which fell on Germany came from german tech. stolen by anglosaxon thieves england and america.
