There is a lot of talk about family values nowadays. It’s a buzzword with Fundamentalist Christians, Bush was elected on this as an issue, Margaret Thatcher was nuts about it. But growing up in a Hindu family I never really understood what the pressing concern was.

Unfortunately the govt of india is trying to kill the joint family as well as strong families as well. Nice to hear a joint family surviving outside of india.

I think we all go through the ‘independence’ phase…
but does that even exist???We’ve got to be dependent on something…
